In this country, in sulfur yellow, orange-brown or golden colors adorn wealth Tagetes (Tagetes hybrids) the flower beds in gardens, parks or on traffic islands. The Tagetes genus includes about 50 species and countless varieties and belongs to the daisy family. The wild forms of Tagetes colonize sunny and dry slopes of Mexico and Texas to Argentina. Only one species occurs in Africa. For the gardener Tagetes two properties are important: the plants are easy to cultivate, and their flowering period extends from May until the first frost, so about six months.
